Anyone interested in a course at the Cologne School of Games should be at least 18 years old and have a secondary school certificate, a (technical) high school diploma or completed vocational training. The costs of the training at the private educational provider amount to around 20,000 euros and are now also eligible for funding as a measure. After an aptitude test, the training can start from September 2024.
"Thanks to this funding, the opportunity to train in the gaming industry has become accessible and affordable for anyone who wants or needs to reorient themselves. Regular and direct communication with anyone who is interested is very important to us. We offer individual support, especially when people with many characteristics or special needs come to us," says Andreas Balfanz, strategic director of the School of Games. This is precisely why the bm holds recurring events with regional institutions working in social areas under the heading of mental health. To strengthen mental health and provide general support, offers of help or solutions are presented to all participants.
