Unique training in Europe at the School of Games in Cologne’s Südstadt

In the middle of the media metropolis of Cologne and in the heart of the creatively vibrant Südstadt, the School of Games (SoG) of the bm - society for education in media professions (bm) offers training courses in the gaming sector that are unique in Europe. The open day on Saturday, March 11, 2023 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Sachsenring 79 in Cologne will provide information about the content of the practice-oriented intensive courses. The educational provider will introduce itself with a presentation at 11 a.m. and show the career prospects in the world of the games, 3D and IT industries. Many videos illustrate the SoG learning environment. Hands-on and hands-on workshops start at 12:30 p.m. and 1:45 p.m. Specifically, these are the training branches Game Artist "Create your own game world", Game Programmer "Program your own game" and Game Business "Commercial processes in the games industry".
The School of Games' open day will also feature a presentation of the modern classrooms and technical equipment. The modern IT and media production technology includes more than 400 workstations (Windows & Mac OS), the 3D printing/3D scanning studio, an AV studio, editing and sound studios, the Tricaster production system, a print studio and a green screen studio. The Motion Capture Studio is particularly noteworthy as it is state-of-the-art in terms of computer-aided transfer of motion sequences to virtual figures. And the use of virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) in the private and industrial sectors is also unique at bm. Extended Realities (XR) will increasingly revolutionize optical perception and reality in the coming years - whether in urban planning, for training purposes, for virtual business meetings, in marketing or in medicine. Essential basic knowledge of the application of augmented reality is taught at the Cologne-based bm educational institute and prepares you for use in countless industries.
