Cologne School of Games is a partner of the European festival for the indie gaming scene

Forum for new games and developments: Indie Game Fest on June 2nd and 3rd, 2023 in Cologne

At the Indie Game Fest, developers personally present their new, not yet widely known games and present them to gaming fans. Unusual gameplay, unique art styles and captivating stories are just as much a part of it as new and old acquaintances from all over Europe in the business area.

New impulses are guaranteed at lectures at the Cologne Business Experience Boost, including the opening on Friday at 1 p.m. by Christoph Kohlhaas from the Cologne Business economic development agency and the presentation by Gil Baxpehler (Cologne Business) on StartUp Services or on the European Videogame Accelerator (EVA) by Odile Limpach from Spielfabrique.

Starting at 2.30 p.m., Andreas Balfanz, strategic director, will present the Europe-wide unique training at the School of Games.

Axel Steinkuhle from the Cologne technology manufacturer evrbit presents VR and AR before the first day ends with an exclusive dinner and party.

Saturday starts at 1pm with a short presentation of the Game Region Malaga by José Christian Jiménez López from Pro Malaga.

Céleste Kleinjans from MINDZEIT will talk about Game Over for Stress: Leveling up your Life with Mindfulness at 1:15 p.m., before moving on to game testing with Ray Doran from IGT Solutions at 1:45 p.m.

Renate Schmid from WBS Legal will speak at 2:15 p.m. about AI and legal complications, and at 3 p.m. Tim Schroeder from the Pulheim game developers Massive Miniteam will report on the missteps in game development.

During the final discussion round, all participants will have the opportunity to engage in intensive industry discussions and network further. This year's awards will be presented to the winners at 7 p.m., before the School of Games invites everyone to the after-show party from 9.30 p.m. with good music and cool drinks.

With the Indie Game Fest, the INDIE Hub has been offering developers from the region, as well as international developers, the chance to be in the spotlight since 2019. The INDIE Hub has set itself the task of supporting indie developers in their further development and networking. Driven by the impulses of the community, new analog and digital offers are constantly being created to improve the challenges of game production for small entrepreneurs.
